Privacy Policy

DataGrowth ("DataGrowth", "we", "us") is a community events platform operated by Big Blue Data Academy. This policy explains what personal data we collect from members of datagrowth.gr, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have over it.
1. Information we collect
We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the community:
- Account information — first name, last name, email address, and the professional role you provide when you sign up.
- Google Sign-In — if you choose "Continue with Google", we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We never receive your Google password.
- Optional profile information — a LinkedIn profile URL and/or a profile photo you choose to add on your profile page.
- Event activity — which events you RSVP to, your waitlist position, and whether you attended, so we can manage capacity and show you your own RSVP history.
- Communications — we send transactional emails (login links, RSVP confirmations, calendar invites) and, if you opt in, occasional newsletters about upcoming events.
- Session cookie — a single, strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
2. Why we process your data
- To provide the service — creating your account, letting you RSVP to events, and sending you confirmations (performance of a contract).
- To communicate with you — sending newsletters or event announcements only if you've opted in (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep the platform secure — session cookies and login links (legitimate interest).
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share the minimum necessary data with:
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, to authenticate you.
- Our email delivery provider — to send you transactional and, where applicable, newsletter emails.
- Other members, in a limited way — your first name, last name, and profile photo may be visible to other members in the "who's going" list on an event page.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an active account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must keep limited records to comply with a legal obligation.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data (you can update your name, role, LinkedIn URL, and photo yourself on your profile page)
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent to newsletters at any time (via the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or from your profile)
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@datagrowth.gr.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed session tokens, and restricted access to our database. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe.
7. Children's privacy
DataGrowth is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children under 16.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
